Hi! I'm Wolfen Moondaughter, aka WolfenM. I'm a freelance artist / writer from Chicago, now living in Florida. Writing-wise, media journalism is my "day job", but I am developing a fantasy-fiction universe known as Gaiankind. Art-wise, I do mostly portraits and character art for private clients, but I have also done some spot illustrations for a couple of Dragonlance modules. I'm the Assitant Art Director and an Assistant Reviews Editrix (1 of 3) for Sequential Tart, and a contributor to Pink Raygun. I've also been a contributing writer to (the now-defunct) Newtype USA, as well as contributed to Andy Mangels' book, Animation on DVD, from Stone Bridge Press. Under the psuedonym Anastasia Witchhazel, I'm working on an adult sci-fi/fantasyverse known as The Celestial Solidarity.
I worked as a bookseller for Borders Group, Inc for 7 years, so I guess you could say books have always been my life!
Besides my professional stuff, I write a lot of fanfiction (unoffcial fiction based on other people's universes.) I also like to sing (and I sing fairly well, or so I'm told), but get terrible stage fright, even among just friends. *sigh*
Oh, and if you really wanna know these sorts of things, i.e. more personal detaisl ....
I'm a pagan -- mostly Gaian -- with strong Secular Humanist leanings. I have a strong interest in lunar deities, Trickster deities, and dieties of Creation/Destruction. I'm mostly drawn to Artemis, Isis, Loki, and Sekhmet. I'm also drawn to European folklore in general, and Celtic and Germanic in particular.
I'm bi-poly.
I'm into zoology, and have an extreme fondness for wolves (surprise, surprise) and rabbits.
These interests tend to feature prominently in my personal work ....
I also really do love long walks -- not on the beach (I hate sand), but along waterways or on nature trails, or even exploring city streets. Seriously, I will walk for hours on end, if I can ....
